Hi Guys,

I am having issues configuring my Cisco 7960 phone with VBuzzer, i am running the latest SIP firmware from Cisco 8.7. The Cisco phone is connected to Linksys WRT54G running DD-WRT. I have no issues using VBuzzer software and Linksys PAP2. I have also tried connecting my phone directly to the Internet without a router, it is also not working.

If people call my number it goes to voice mail "the party you're to reach is unavailable please leave a message and someone will return your call as soon as possible." Also if I try to dial out I get a fast busy (also tried dialing 101#, getting fast busy as well).

Here are my settings.

Settings->SIP Configuration->1 Line 1 Settings

1. Name: Name
2. Shortname: Shortname
3. Authentication Name: <VBuzzer Username>
4. Authentication Password: <VBuzzer Password>
5. Display Name: Display Name
6. Proxy Address: vbuzzer.com
7. Proxy Port: 80

Settings->SIP Configuration-> 1 to 7 Unchanged
8. Preffered Codec: g711ulaw
9. Out of Band DTMP: avt (I think avt=auto)
10. Register with Proxy: yes
11. Register expires: 3600
12. TFTP directory: <leave empty>
13. Phone Label: <UNPROVISIONED>
14. Enable VAD: No
15: VoIP Control Port: 5060
16: Start Media Port: 16384
17: End Media Port: 32766
18: Backup Proxy:
19: Backup proxy port: 5060
20: Emergency proxy:
21: Emergency proxy port: 5060
22: Outbound Proxy: N/A
23: Outbound Proxy port:
24: NAT Enabled: Yes
25: NAT Address: N/A
26: Call Statstics: No

Anybody has any luck configuring Cisco7960 phone with VBuzzer.

I've never tried configuring that device but I think that in the sip settings, the voip control port should be changed to port 80.

I tried that already, if I change it to 80 it will revert back to 5060. Basically I tried setting it lower than or equal to 1023, it will not take it. Anything 1024 and higher is only acceptable in the settings..

Anyother workarounds?

I actually gave it another try, reset the phone to factory default and followed your instructions verbatim (thats the key), and it did work actually.

Thanks for the help.

How did you reset the Cisco phone to factory default? I have followed the settings, but I can only dial out, and cannot receive calls.

Thanks.

We do not have the CISCO 7960 in hand.
Regarding incoming calls, we just remind: Please do not use buzzme DID number in the configuration. Please use your vbuzzer account instead because our system routes a call based on vbuzzer account.

According to a test log from one customer, the firmware P0S3-8-12-00 (i.e. 8.12) has a bug about NAT.

Please downgrade to firmware P0S3-8-2-00 (i.e. Version 8.2). It will work.

This is applied to both Cisco 7960 and Cisco 7940.
