Now I have found this version in example , ithink it is Version: v3.0.0 atasip (Build 031210A) .
ATA has registered but after 1 ring goes the silence . I tried to do those calls with ATA connected directly with Internet and form the LAN (ATA in DMZ and without DMZ ) . The same problem : after 1 ring - the silence. |

ATA begin to work but only with g711 codec
RxCodec: 2
TxCodec: 2
LBRCodec: 2
Somebody with what codecs work the softphone ?
RxCodec
Description
Use this parameter to specify receiving-audio codec preference. The following values are valid:
•0—G.723 (can be selected only if LBRCodec is set to 0)
•1—G.711A-law
•2—G.711µ-law
•3—G.729a (can be selected only if LBRCodec is set to 3)
•6—G.726-32kbps
Range 0-3, 6 Default 2
TxCodec
Use this parameter to specify the transmitting-audio codec preference. The following values are valid:
•0—G.723 (can be selected only if LBRCodec is set to 0)
•1—G.711A-law
•2—G.711µ-law
•3—G.729A (can be selected only if LBRCodec is set to 3
•6—G.726-32kbps
Range 0-3, 6 Default 2
LBRCodec
This parameter allows you to specify which low-bit-rate codecs are available. The Cisco ATA is capable of supporting two G.723.1 connections, two G.726 connections, or one G.729 connection.
When G.723.1 is selected as the low-bit-rate codec, each FXS port is allocated with one G.723.1 connection.
When G.729 is selected, only one FXS port is capable of operating with the G.729 codec. The allocation of the G.729 resource to the FXS port is dynamic. The G.729 resource, if available, is allocated to an FXS port when a call is initiated or received; the resource is released when a call is completed.
When G.726 is selected, the Cisco ATA can support as many as two active simultaneous G.726 connections. The allocation of the G.726 codec is dynamic. Two G.726 connections can be used by one Cisco ATA voice port for conferencing or shared by two Cisco ATA voice ports.
The following values are valid:
•0—Select G.723.1 as the low-bit-rate codec.
•3—Select either G.729 as the low-bit-rate codec.
•6—Select G.726-32kbps as the low-bit-rate codec.
Range 0, 3 or 6 Default 0 |

Hi,
I am using Cisco ATA with version Version: v3.0.0 atasip (Build 031210A) and I have configured my ATA using the exact configuration mentioned here. But it doesn't work:
Works 100% of the time:-
Vbuzzer------------->PSTN
95% of the time:-
Vbuzzer<-------PSTN
If some one dials my vbuzzer DID number from the PSTN side, the call connects but there is no audio
4% of the time :-
Vbuzzer<-----PSTN
Some times there is audio but it is only in one direction (one way audio). Like I can hear the user that is calling me from PSTN side but he/she cannot hear me.
1% of the time:-
Vbuzzer<-----PSTN
Very rarely (1%) call connects fine and audio establish in both direction.
I have troubleshooted various things but nothing solved my problem. My ATA is in DMZ. I have used the latest ATA version too (I guess 5.x) but had the same problem.
After playing with the ATA for almost a month now I am convinced and very +ve that it is something to do with the vbuzzer's own network.
So if you have Cisco ATA and planning to vbuzzer services, then I won't recommend it because I myself going to switch to some other provider once my balance becomes zero. And as you can see it will become zero pretty soon because I had to call PSTN users back almost all the time :-)
Thanks |

Hi
I have been following all the preconfigurations found in the cisco ata forum but I still have not been able to configure neither buzzme nor dial out. Is there something I should know about to configure the buzzme?
Is the dhcp what might be causing my problem?

|
|
Hello Vbuzzer Forum,
It have been trying to configure my Cisco ATA 186. I am at a point where I see my machine responding to the Internet but still I do not have a dialtone nor incoming calls.
My question is - do I put a userid or telephone number in the uid0? Shouldn't I put 0 in use tftp since I configure manually? Should I not put 1 in UseLoginID and put my username in the login id? To get a dialtone should I put a natip? In the GkOrProxy, is that a semi colon or colon beside the 80?
Does the Cisco ATA have a dialtone if I configure correctly?
I really want to get my machine configured since it has been two months since I signed up with Vbuzzer. I hope you can help me settle this problem.
Much appreciated,
+Vince Sandoval

|
|
With the number of replies I have submitted, I have been desperate for knowledge about the Cisco ATA 18X phone adapter. Over two months I have hounded this forum and persistently written the vbuzzer customer support. Let me tell you that it should be called vbuzzer no support, they do not even read my email (or is at such a loss as just to point to the forum config page). After I told them that I followed the config page to the T and still not get the machine to work, they pointed me to the forum config page. Hello customer support, are you awake?
I have taken 3 courses at the Cisco computer networking academy and definately told myself that I can config the machine even if it takes me to voice configuration. This afternoon I sat down in front of the machine and dismembered every configuration until I got a dialtone. I took into consideration every reply on this forum, set the parameters mentioned and I focused on other things until I got the right config. Actually I was so glad to hear the dialtone and I told myself that the 3 courses in CCNA must have paid off.
But there is a better way!!!!! Vbuzzer customer support read this:
www.luxoncomm.com/ata-guide.pdf
Everyone get your Cisco ATA 18X out of the dust and into full operation with this guide. First of all, this guide mentions, the cable from the phone adapter to the router should be crosswired. Secondly if there is no dial tone.
Possible Cause The Cisco ATA 186 has not successfully registered to the
gatekeeper or Proxy (GKORPROXY), wow that simple! Third to access the SIP proxy by URL, use a colon (:): www.company.com:5060. Other details are explained and fitted to the world telephony networks, special mention of Sweeden for the supplemental services. This guide I recommend because it explains the things I have been searching for two months.
Just a word about vbuzzer, I have canvassed the world for a voip bring your own device. Vbuzzer is the cheapest and I attest to the reliability of their network. I hope more people will be using this service, specially Filipinos like me who are blood run dry by the Philippine telcos. I want to tell everyone that this guide will surely make your Cisco ATA 18X operational. |

Posted: Fri Sep 12, 2008 8:42 am Post subject: Differences between preconfiguration and operational setting |
|
|
Hello again everyone
Here are my observations between preconfiguration and operational settings on my machine. If there is a question concerning my operating system, I am using Linux Ubuntu 8.04, no Windows Xtra Precious for me.
First I observed that the preconfig is using port 80. Do not use reserved ports, such as 80 (HTTP), so I put 5060. The dialtone comes out only when you put the right settings for uid0, pwd0 and gkorproxy. With those values in place, the dialtone should appear. Please check if your dialtone disappears if you set the sipregon to 1. I get stability if I put a gateway, the preconfig value is 0, I put in my gateway found in the ata build in the bottom of the page, actually route.
My lbr, rx and tx codec settings are 2 for all. I observed, using X-lite, that the dialer chooses G711u and that's why I chose setting 2 for all codecs.
I put an outbound proxy for all it's worth same as GkOrproxy with port at 5060. And for those with a toconfig setting, I set it first to 1 while fixing and when everything is working well I will set toconfig to 0. And remember what I said, though I have not yet done, the guide states that the phone adapter should be crosswired going to the router.
If I can help anyone, just post a reply here and I will try to config whatever problem I can work with the Cisco ATA 18X. |
