|
|
Thanks to some kind and supportive customers, we are now able to post the setting that are verified to work with Vbuzzer. This is for Grandstream BT100, more posts will follow for other hardware brands.
Grandstream BudgeTone-100 series IP phones looks and feels like standard traditional telephones. There are two models in the BudgeTone-100 family, including BudgeTone-101 and BudgeTone-102. The difference between BT101 and BT102 is that the two RT-45 ports of BT102 is actually a 10Base-T mini-Hub. A user can use this mini-Hub to share or sniffer the network using another data device like PC.
Step1. Connect the Grandstream BT100 to an Internet connection by the following steps.
A. Plug the Ethernet cable into the “LAN” port of the Grandstream BT100 in order to connect it to a router or an Internet connection.
B. Connect the power cord to the Grandstream BT100
Step2. Set the Grandstream BT100 to the factory default setting
If you ONLY want to change some items of setting, please skip this step.
A. Find the MAC address of the Grandstream. It is a 12 digits HEX number located on the bottom of the unit.
B. Encode the MAC address. The encode mapping is followed:
0-9: 0-9
A: 22 (when pressed “2” twice, the “A” letter will show on the LCD screen)
B: 222
C: 2222
D: 33
E: 333
F: 3333
e.g. if the MAC address is “000B820032e3”, it should be encoded as “0002228200323333”.
C. Restore the factory default setting
1. Press the MENU button.
2. Press the Up or Down button to see “RESET”
3. Enter the encoded MAC address above.
4. Press the MENU button again.
5. Wait for phone reboot and the LCD backlight finish flashing.
Step3. Obtain an IP address of the Grandstream BT100
A. Make sure DHCP is on to acquire an IP address automatically
1. Press the MENU button
2. Press the Up or Down button to see “DHCP ON”. The default setting is “DHCP ON”.
B. Obtain a valid IP address of the Grandstream BT100
1. Press the MENU button.
2. Press the Up or Down button to see “IP Addr”.
3. Press the MENU button again.
4. The LCD screen will display an IP address of Grandstream. If this IP address is valid, you can immediately go to Step4. Otherwise, you need to take the following Step C.
C. Configure a static IP address manually if the IP address of the Grandstream BT100 is 0.0.0.0.
1. If the IP address is invalid, please check the following aspects
- The DHCP server does not assign an IP address to the Grandstream. Please configure the DHCP server.
- The network does not have a DHCP server. Please configure a static IP address manually.
2. Configure a static IP address manually
- Obtain an IP address, a default gateway and a subnet mask
- Press the MENU button
- Press the MENU button again
- Press the Up or Down button to see “DHCP off”
- Press the Menu button again
- Press the MENU button
- Press the Up or Down button to see “Ip Addr”
- Enter the 12-digit IP address, for example, the IP address “192.168.1.168” is “192 168 001 168”.
- Press the MENU button again.
- Press the MENU button
- Press the Up or Down button to see “Subnet”
- Enter the 12-digit subnet mask
- Press the MENU button again
- Press the MENU button
- Press the Up or Down button to see “router”
- Enter the 12-digit default gateway
- Press the MENU button again
Step4. Set the configuration of the Grandstream BT100
A. Open the admin login page by entering the following link into your web browser:
http://IP_address/ where IP address is the IP address of the Grandstream.
B. Enter the admin password “admin” and click on “login” button.
C. The configuration page will be displayed. Click on the “ADVANCED SETTING” tab link. Fill in those circled fields. Please do not modify other default values.
D. Then click on the “Update” button and “Reboot” button at the bottom of this page. Wait for a few seconds and the configuration will become effective.
E. If some fields can not be found, it means that you need to upgrade the firmware of Grandstream by Step5.
Step5. Upgrade the firmware of the Grandstream BT100
IMPORTANT note: Make sure your Internet connection is stable and do not interrupt the upgrade process during upgrading the firmware. Otherwise, there is a risk that the Grandstream BT100 becomes a brick.
A. Click on the “ADVANCED SETTING” tab link of the configuration page. Fill in the circled fields.
B. Then click on the “Update” button and “Reboot” button at the bottom of this page. Wait for the LCD backlight finish flashing and configure the setting by Step3 and Step 4.
Thanks All

Just signed up today; am planning to use the service but don't have a windows pc on the net, just Redhat 9.
Am interested in the hardware adapters.
My question in regard to the Grandstream is that you are showing local network ip addresses in the settings, and also a stun server setting of stun.mycompany.com, and was wondering if these are correct. |

| You can use the Linux versio of X-lite. I works fine for me under Xandros and Mepis. ( I also have a Grandstream HT488.) |

My PC is working behind a NetGear WG614 Router and I am able to use Vbuzzer softphone for incoming and outgoing calls without any problem.
But when I use it with my GrandStream HandyTone adapter 286 with the configuration setup given above I am able to make only outgoing calls, but incoming calls can not be received.
Since the softphone is working normally, I presume that the hardphone may be using a different port for incoming calls from that used by the softphone.
Anyone has any possible solutions for this problem.
Is it likely that if I use any other ports other than 5060 for (SIP) and 5004 (RTP), it could resolve problem.
Anyone has any idea as to the TCP & UDP ports used by your software phone so that I can use them to try with port forwarding port triggering in my router. |

| Try to put your GrandStream HandyTone adapter 286 before the NetGear WG614 Router, you should be able to receive inbound call. |

| I have grandstream HT488, It has been configured as per vbuzzer recommendations. The wiered things about it is that sometime it get inbound calls and most of the time it goes to voice mail. I used the same internet connection with Stanaphone and it was working properly. My hardware phone is behind NAT we have a D-Link router before it. Do we need to change the time for registration expiry ? Any idea or suggestions...Thanks ! |

The GS286 has got only 1port. So I wont be able to put it before my netgear router. I presume that the only way is to put it in the DMZ for testing and if successful I can change back to normal mode and then either do port forwarding or port triggering.
I hope that it will be OK. I will try later. |

| I think you need to forward the required ports to the HT286. If you try to call yourself with the softphone to the HT286 things will get confused as one or the other "phone" will have taken over the ports if they are the same. Go into the menu page of your router and forward the ports to the MAC address of the HT. |

|

Dear admin,
Have you tried to configure HT488 with VBuzzer?
The configuration screen you provided is pretty much different with HT488 I have right now. I did my best to configure it as similar as possible to your configuration but the red light on button is still flashing (every 2 seconds).
And now the WAN port of the adaptor is flashing on yellow light, seems to be communicating with the Internet for a long time. I don't know what it's doing and how long it will take to get registered with the VBuzzer server.
The status screen shows this information to me:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MAC Address: 00.0B.82.08.01.99
WAN IP Address: 192.168.0.6
Product Model: HT488
Software Version: Program-- 1.0.2.16 Bootloader-- 1.0.7.1 HTML-- 1.0.0.18 VOC-- 1.0.0.10
System Up Time: 0 day(s) 2 hour(s) 17 minute(s)
Registered: No
PPPoE Link Up: disabled
NAT: detected NAT type is open Internet
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This information shows me that it failed to register to the VBuzzer server, and the software versions are not the latest ones.
Could you help me on the software upgrade and VBuzzer registration?
Your help and advice is appreciated!
Regards,
Queyon |

| As far as I can see this is not made by Grandstream. However, do you have a manual. Have you attempted to set it up? If so what happens/goes wrong? Vbuzzer is relatively easy to set up. |
