Hi,

I have WRT54GL Router and PAP2.

PAP2 Is connected to Ethernet 1 port in the router.

in WRT54GL's configuration, I went to QoS and I entered PAP2's MAC Address under Device Priority and set it to Highest. and clicked on save.

When I talk to somebody, everything works great, except that when I load few websites at once or if I download something, WHILE using the phone, then the other end hears my voice choppy BUT I hear them fine.

I am out of ideas, I don't know how to fix it. Please help me.

Thanks.

When you are on a call, you had better stop other usage, like surfing and watch video. It will affect the quality absolutely.

That doesn't sound right. Isn't the router supposed to provide a stable stream to the adapter even if the internet is being used, because of the QoS settings?

my brother has the same router and I used the same router settings and even if he's downloading, his phone works great.

So I am assuming there's something wrong with my PAP2 Settings. I followed the guide posted on this forum to setup my PAP2 Adapter. Maybe I didn't have to upgrade the firmware? This is very frustrating...

If you set a correct QoS setting, you are right. However, if you do not set the correct QoS setting, the downloading traffic will affect your voice quality.

I believe I set the correct settings.. I rechecked them 20 times at least.

Did anybody have a similar problem?

Have you checked your broadband's capability to carry VoIP (compared to your brother)? Test it here:

If you have high latency, jitter, dropped packets, etc., QoS won't improve that.

Download speed 9012 Kbps
Upload speed 254 Kbps
D/load COS 70 %
U/load COS 97 %
RTT 32 ms
RTT Consistency 65 %
Max Delay 87 ms
Avg Delay 1 ms
Max Bandwidth 16000 Kbps
Route Speed 16383 Kbps
Forced Idle 21 %
Route Conc 1.7

Test Bandwidth Speed

I think you're missing the point.

my VOIP works great. When I download at full speed I can hear the other side PERFECT.

The only problem, is when I download (even when I try to load video on youtube) then the other side hears my voice choppy.

Help?
